The solution to cavitation phenomenon of multistage centrifugal pump

1. Reasonably determine the installation elevation of the centrifugal pump. When determining the installation elevation of the centrifugal pump, the installation elevation should be correctly calculated according to the formula of the centrifugal pump installation elevation.

2. Well-designed inlet pool The water flow in the tank should be smooth and uniform, and no vortex or bias flow will occur. Otherwise, the cavitation performance of the centrifugal pump will deteriorate. Therefore, the shape and size of the inlet pool should meet smooth and uniform water flow requirements. In addition, it is necessary to promptly remove the dirt and sludge entering the pool so that the water flow is smooth, the flow state is uniform, and the inlet horn has sufficient submergence depth.

3. Selecting a reasonable inlet pipe The intake pipe should be as short as possible to reduce unnecessary pipe fittings and appropriately increase the pipe diameter to reduce the heat loss of the inlet pipe.

To make the water flow velocity and pressure distribution at the inlet of the multistage centrifugal pump uniform, for the horizontal centrifugal pump, the horizontal straight section length of the upstream water inlet of the centrifugal pump inlet should not be too short, usually not less than 4 to 5 times the diameter of the inlet pipe. In addition, the type, structure, and size of the inlet passage of large and medium-sized pumping stations should be designed reasonably to ensure interesting and good hydraulic conditions to prevent harmful drift and vortex.
