Analysis of Causes of Leakage Protector Tripping

Leakage protectors are now common in homes and work. The leakage protector has a function of leakage protection more than ordinary circuit breakers (air switches). The rest of the functions are basically the same, and they all have the function of current overload protection. The surface of the leakage protector usually has a button “t,” which is the test button. When the button is pressed under normal conditions, the leakage protector will trip to test whether the leakage circuit breaker can work normally. So what is the cause of the leakage protector when it trips?

1. Observe the state of the reset button. The reset button is normally flush with the entire plane. If a leakage accident occurs in the circuit, the leakage current is greater than 30 mA, which will cause the leakage protector to trip. The reset button will pop up. At this time, the brake is not closed, and the normal closing can only be performed by pressing the reset button. Therefore, if the reset button is highlighted after the trip, it indicates a leakage in the circuit where the leakage protector is located. After the leakage of the household appliance is eliminated, the electrical line aging and the insulation reduction will cause the leakage protector to trip. The electrician should ask a professional electrician to perform circuit maintenance and troubleshooting.

2. Observe the color of the display. In some brands of leakage protectors, the display will be used to display the leakage status. As long as there is a leakage circuit breaker on display, the display is blue when it is working normally, and the leakage appears. When the trip occurs, the display turns red. At this time, it cannot be directly closed. Only after the line maintenance inspection and troubleshooting, the switch can be closed. After the switch is closed, the display will turn blue. This type of leakage protector turns red after tripping, which proves a leakage in the circuit.

3. Judging the cause of the trip, the above two scenes can be judged whether there is a leakage current phenomenon in the circuit and tripped. If the acknowledgment is not due to a leakage trip, consider the other two conditions, "overload and under voltage." If it is a power failure or the voltage drops to about 170 volts, it will automatically trip, indicating that the under-voltage release is installed in the circuit breaker. This trip is a normal phenomenon to protect the electrical equipment in the circuit. However, if it is suddenly tripped during normal use, it is necessary to consider whether the overload protection trips due to a large number of high-power electrical equipment operating.

4. Other causes of tripping, the wires in the circuit are too thin, the insulation is aging, the line temperature is too high, the circuit breaker selection is too small, the electrical equipment power is not matched with the circuit breaker, and the line. Leakage protectors have many reasons for tripping, and the troubleshooting is relatively complicated. In such situations, it is best to be repaired and repaired by a professional electrician and continue to use after the fault is eliminated.
